His Excellency Dr. Compton Bourne, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana to Brazil on November 14, 2024, presented his Letters of Credence to His Excellency Luiz Inácio Lula DaSilva , President of the Republic of Brazil at the Palácio do Planalto, Brasilia, Brazil.

The Honourable Hugh Hilton Todd, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation today received a courtesy call from His Excellency Mr. Anders Bengtcén, Non-Resident Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to Guyana.

The Honourable Hugh Hilton Todd, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation today received a courtesy call from His Excellency Mr. Anders Bengtcén, Non-Resident Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to Guyana.

During the meeting, Minister Todd and the Ambassador discussed areas geared towards advancing the bilateral cooperation agenda between the two countries, including trade and security.

The Honourable Hugh Hilton Todd, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation today received a courtesy call from His Excellency Mr. Anders Bengtcén, Non-Resident Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to Guyana.

During the meeting, Minister Todd and the Ambassador discussed areas geared towards advancing the bilateral cooperation agenda between the two countries, including trade and security.

Minister Todd also provided an update on the case before the International Court of Justice on the validity of the 1899 Arbitral Award between Guyana and Venezuela. The Ambassador further expressed the Government of Sweden's support for the multilateral process and international rule of law.

The Honourable Hugh Hilton Todd, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation yesterday participated in the Second South American Meeting of Dialogue Between Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Defence chaired by the Pro Tempore Presidency of the Brasilia Consensus Colombian Minister of Foreign Affairs the Honourable Luis Gilberto Murillo and Minister of Defence the Honourable Ivan Velasquez. The meeting was attended by representatives of all twelve countries on the continent of South America.

The Honourable Hugh Hilton Todd, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation today delivered a statement during the United Nations Security Council's (UNSC) Session on “The situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian question”

During his intervention, Minister Todd stated that the war in Gaza has set several new and unacceptable bars. Among them, a rapid decline in the nutritional status of the population in Gaza; the highest number of humanitarian workers killed in a single conflict globally; and more women and children have been killed in the war than in any other recent conflict in a single year.
